Developing and Scanning (35mm)

Developing and scanning for 35mm colour negative and black and white film, with each roll handled carefully through the developing, fixing/blix, washing, and drying + stabilising stages to keep the results clean, consistent, and reliable.

Colour negative film is processed in C-41 chemistry under standard processing guidelines. Colour inversion and basic colour correction are included, so your scans are delivered ready to view, share, and use.

Black and white film is currently processed using a Caffenol-based development process, known for its organic tonality, gentle contrast, visible character, and slightly vintage feel. It is well suited for photographers who enjoy a softer, more handcrafted black and white result. Kodak XTOL development is planned to be added soon.

High Resolution scans are done using a Pacific Image PrimeFilm XA Plus dedicated 35mm scanner at 10,000 DPI, giving the maximum resolution available from this service. This option is best for archiving, editing, cropping, or making prints. You will receive a .zip file containing High Res PNG files and compressed JPEGs. Please request separately if you would like your scans delivered in any other format.

Lower Resolution scans are done at 2400 DPI using an Epson V600. This option is perfect for social media, sharing with friends, viewing on your phone, and keeping a digital copy of your negatives without large file sizes. Lower resolution scans are delivered in an easy-to-share JPEG format.
